Safe Place Training Offered

          The council recently approved a policy called “Safe Place” intended to lower the chances of sexual abuse of the children entrusted to our care, as well as to protect the hard won reputation of adults who work with our children. All adults who have contact with our children are asked to complete the following by September 1, 2012:

·        State Police background check

·        PA Child Line clearance

·        Attend one training opportunity to be offered by Grace

·        Read and acknowledge receipt of Grace’s policy statement.

          Over the next few months, a number of 90 minute training sessions will be offered to acquaint members with the policy and give them information necessary to qualify them for work with our children. This policy applies to paid staff as well as Sunday School staff, VBS staff, Youth Group leaders, Mission Trip participants, Church Hour Nursery personnel, and anyone else who has access to children at Grace.

          The next training opportunities will be held in the chapel on Sunday February 12 at 1:30 pm and Sunday March 25 at Noon. If you are an adult (age 18 and above), who are involved with our children, please contact the office at GraceMacungie@verizon.net  or 610-966-3325 to reserve your place and allow us to prepare materials.
